Re: Any OGs still around?

I browse mainly just looking for new tracks but to be honest, the old ones were the best. Yes 8) Are you certain? You gonna favor Washougal 2008 over DJ's masterpiece? A1 2010? lol I was spinning heaters on JLV's 2008 A1 yesterday. Will have to download both of those and make a decision. haha

Pretty cool to see old familiar names still floating around. I browse mainly just looking for new tracks but to be honest, the old ones were the best.

I'm not leaving this game until we get dynamic shadows. Been 13 years and still waiting. :D

Very interesting! I code quite a bit and am always trying to optimize. All I could think of while reading was this video on creating an NES game with 40kb. Really interesting optimization techniques!

jlv wrote: Tue Mar 16, 2021 9:10 pm Maybe if you press the restart button it should move you back to the previous gate if you haven't moved yet. Then you could just keep hitting the restart button until you're in a good spot.
Could see that as being a really simple and effective solution. Good idea!

Re: n-1 Time Trial Starting Gate

Another side benefit of that approach would be the ability to start at specific sections of a track to practice, saving quite a lot of time against running a full lap or riding to a specific portion of the track.

Re: n-1 Time Trial Starting Gate

Fair point, if the person placing the timing gates isn't thinking about time trial then they likely wouldn't specify a time trial gate to begin with. For example, a few of this year's SX tracks have the final timing gate prior to whoops, or a rhythm lane where it's difficult to establish flow leadin...

n-1 Time Trial Starting Gate

Thoughts on the ability to specify the starting gate in time trial mode? Not on every track, but most of them have the last gate in a terribly inconvenient spot for starting time trial mode.

Baja is an amazing track and would translate really well in sim. I’m a washed up track maker but would totally support someone willing to make it!

Re: Tuff Block Design for Safety

Interesting the 1st turn after the finish at Daytona has a sloped block. Haven’t seen that before. Wonder if it’s in response to Webb and a couple other riders clipping inside lines with their pegs?

Tuff Block Design for Safety

Been thinking about tuff block design quite a bit over the last several weeks and think there could be some significant changes to improve safety without limiting advertising effectiveness. Dating back, the tuff block replaced the hay bale for several reasons, but for most on the track kept the orig...

For what it's worth, using the same throttle axis as RacingTurtle and no issues.

Re: Dyno balance

So basically factory versions of each bike where the power at each RPM is equal to the highest torque out of all the bikes at that RPM? I.e. torque(rpm) = max(crtorque(rpm), kxtorque(rpm), rmtorque(rpm), sxtorque(rpm), yztorque(rpm)) Didn't bother reading any of the rest of the posts (sorry). I wou...
