Yes i understand all this JLV....MCM1's track editor used to use a very similar technique to assign tiles.... The only way to edit the tilemap file is to add a .raw (or similar) extension so that photoshop can read it. However, the game does not see tilemap.raw and thus doesnt even boot up. Im stump...

Not a bad track, but its more or less just flat out with jumps. There really isnt much structure to it. This game's physics beg for realistic style terrain and natural jumps. Im currently working on a Unadilla replica, and things are flowing quite well. Hardest part was replicating the base terrain....

Textures?

JLV, we need some more information on editing the tilemap file.

1. What file type should we save it as after we edit (change to a .raw)?
2. What Black % corresponds with certain terrain textures?
3. Should the size of the map be the size of our terrain map -1?

Some initial pointers

Alright, ive messed around alot with making some tracks for the game to get a feel of how the bike reacts to certain terrain and what not. Right now i am working on a supercross track. Some pointers: 1. The current physics do not like poppy jumps... the rider will just do a front flip over it. All j...

I really think this stuff should be left to the people who know what they are doing.... If track making is new to you, you shouldnt be here. im not new to track making. im new to this editor. Well if you arent new to track making.... then you would not be relying on the in game editor track making ...

Landing Sensitivity (all aspects)

Thought i would start a discussion on the landing sensitivity that we are currently experiencing. There are a few things i would like to discuss. First of all, there is really no vertical landing sensitivity in the game. You can launch off a hill and be 50-60ft in the air and flatland on the incline...

Couple things i was thinking about.... The backup feature is great, definetly needed that. However, i think you should implement a way to disallow people from backing up on the start, atleast disallow them to back up any further than the point where you start from. The start gate needs to be randoml...

With regards to other MX games....

I would just like to point something out that i have been noticing by reading these forums. JLV, when we talk about other MX games, like how their physics were, how their track editor was, how their multiplayer engine performed..... we are not trying to say that they were the cream of the crop and n...

Format is a very important aspect of track creation as we have found with MCM1,MCM2, and MVA. PNG files are highly detailed and would be great to use when creating greyscale terrain maps. We have always used TGA format, though. One thing we hated about the track editors in past MX games was the limi...

69.3 on the Rm125 on Ekwanbee.

Really, the more you can tolerate less stability, the more potential to be faster. I use 60% stability.
