theyre not nicer than my computer...

anyway, the reason MX Sim may lag on your computer, but not Dirt or whatever, may be for the fact that Codemasters (or insert multi-million dollar publisher here) has the resources to test their software on multiple machines, and optimize it to make it run as smoothly as possible. there are also several "tricks" that programmers use to make the game as lightweight as possible while still having tons of eye candy that you can see. JLV on the other hand doesnt have a ton of time, resources, or manpower to do it all. i bet there is some things he could optimize or change that would make the game run smoother on some computers, but its probably not worth it for him. however i will say this. the game isnt super-graphically intense, however the physics seem to make computers work terribly hard. when, or if, he gets to code the software to use multiple core processors then that will make the game run a lot better for some who have dual or triple cores but are lower Ghz. more cores = more processing power = calculations are done faster = less lag.

maybe JLV can chime in. i sure dont know as much as him about programming!

Turn the roost off it will take the lag away. worked for me. lol and if that doesn't work then start lowering stuff in your graphics. this is what im running.

if it still lags keep turning stuff down tell its fixed. you have to restart you game every time you change something accept roost and volume etc.

1024x1024 is a complete waste with normal FOV settings. The only reason the 1024x1024 setting is there is for videos recorded with low FOV angles.

Didn't you also say that it only runs at 256X256 when Frame Buffer Objects are disabled? Might explain why he doesn't experience lag.

I think that the game should run with the highest graphic stettings, 4gb ram should enough to run this game without lag, or I'am wrong :?:

what does the framebuffer, minmaps and the other one do?
wat are the advantages of having them on or off?
i just have a lucky flick every now and then turn one on one off all on. never seems to make much difference??

Framebuffer objects let the GPU render directly into a texture. If there are no FBO's, the game will render to the back buffer and copy the result to the texture.
Mipmaps give you better filtering when texels are smaller than the pixels on the screen. There's a more complete description here.

If your drivers support it you want both on.

i didnt get any reaction so ill post it again.

okay guys so i bought a new computer

card: amd radeon hd 6800 series
proccesor amd phenom (tm) II x6 1090T 3.21ghz

windows 7.

so the first 3 days i wasnt lagging at all (maxed settings exept ground texture reso 512 or what it is)
now i start lagging when i put shaders on and framebuffer objects.
at the start it didnt lagg at all with those settings turned ON.
so i think i mustv done something wrong or idk
im realy disapointed in this, also when playing my cpu doesnt go above 21?? when lagging it should just use more cpu???

josh told me to change some stuff in catalyst cotrol center but it only stopped the game from crashing wich did before i used those settings.

please help im realy staring to get sad by the fact i bought an 800 euro computer and i cant play the game i wanted to play properly

ps i am able to run crysis 2 maxed out but it isnt as smooth as in the beginning any more
