This won me a SX Lites title last year.

X - Throttle
Square - Rear brake
Triangle - Front brake
Circle - Back up
R1 - Sit/Dab
R2 - Shift up
L1 - Clutch
L2 - Shift down
D-Pad L/R - Steering
D-Pad F/B - Lean F/B

It's not really about the control setup, its about your familiarity with it, it has to be instinctual.

X - Shift Down
Square - Sit/Dab
Triangle - Shift Up
Circle - Back up
R1 - Rear Brake
R2 -Throttle
L1 - Clutch
L2 - Front Brake
Left Analog - Up/Down- Lean Forward/Back
Left Analog- Left/Right - Steering

Like Phathry said it's something you have to get comfortable with.

Right analog down- throttle
Right analog up- rear brake
Left analogue- leaning
R2- front brake
L2- clutch
R1- shift up
L1- shift down
L3 (clicking left analog stick)- sit

This is the best mapping you can use, it allows analog control for all inputs. Having an analogue clutch does wonders for starts.

Oh, and by using the right stick for throttle you get a lot more modulation and control, which is really helpful especially on 450s.

I'll give you mines, i feel pretty confortable with them.
I use right joystick for throttle and brake( Up-> throttle Down-> Front brake)
Left joystick i use for turning (left- right) And for rider movemente (up-> forward Down-> Backwards)
X button -> back up
R1-> clutch
L2-> rear brake 'nd downshift (it's weird but it works for me haha)
L3 ( Left joystick buttom) -> Sit/Dab
R3 -> Upshift.

And Thats it!

right analog- lean forward/reverse
left analog- steering left/right
R1- clutch
R2- throttle
L1- sit/dab
L2- brakes front/back or just front.
X- shift up
circle- shift down
triangle- N2O
square- back brake optional*
select- reverse

Throttle on R2 because you can have it work like a real throttle modulation. Brakes are on the same so I can us fingers for other controls like L1 sit/dab. x and circle for shifting because I wont be leaning forward/backwards while shifting so right hand does that. select reverse for left hand to reach easy so i can use both hands for the analogs while getting up, also it works better as a button for some reason. triangle N2O for cheating in the stock server. my clutch and throttle are on the same side because im right handed i have a hard time keeping my left handed fingers on both L1 and L2 at the same time...
