Changes:
  • Now sets working set size to 1-3 GB on Windows. This might prevent background processes from slowing down MX Sim.
  • More complete error messages for Winsock.
  • Tighter steering lock setting for AI riders.
  • Changed the buffering mode for the log file on Windows again.
  • New automatic camera mode.
To use the new camera, the track needs a cameras file. Create a file in the track folder named "cameras" with the following format:

fov <fov for fixed zoom camera>
autofovsize <size of area for automatic zoom camera>
gate <list of gates this camera will watch>
addcamera <x> <y> <z>

Here's an example for the San Diego supercross:

Code: Select all

fov 60
gate 0
addcamera 77 15 363

autofovsize 30
gate 8 9 10
addcamera 77 15 363

autofovsize 30
gate 24 25 26 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
addcamera 333 15 551

autofovsize 30
gate 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
addcamera 307 15 106

autofovsize 30
gate 19 20 21 22 23
addcamera 453 15 332
Once you have the cameras set up, switch to the floating camera and press 1-9 to select the camera. Pressing the sit/dab key will toggle follow mode. Pressing 0 will return to the floating camera.

Linux users: http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mxbin-2013-02-08-1162

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. The default location for mx.exe should be "C:\Program Files\MX Simulator". I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

SO SICK! I assume the blank spaces will display rider names in multiplayer.

It's pretty sick but it would be even better if the scroll bar wasn't pure back and white haha. Is there anyway to edit it JLV?

Thanks jlv good work. I like how the update isn't too crazy in the middle of SX. Figured you probably wouldn't do that anyway

Its playback only, in case you did not know. Took me a minute to realize that. I was looking around for an "on" button or something. haha.

JLV, how far are you from getting the timing tower to light up?

No, it's hard coded. I guess I should have used a little color though.

I'm going to wait until I embed a scripting engine for that. Seems like too much of a special case to hard code into the game.
