Updated rider model and blender file

Post by jlv »

Here is the blender file for the rider:

While I was cleaning up the file, I tweaked the model a bit to work better when the rider texture doesn't hide the joints. If you want to try it, put this file in either MX Simulator folder.

I've just added a leatt brace to the rider model, I will play with it in game tonight! As soon as I get everything figured out I will upload it to use!
Hey JLV, what steps to I need to take to get the model to show up in game? (i.e. export the entire model as .JM or just the leatt brace. put the .JM in the MX Sim folder. What about the .saf file?)

You want that to be part of the torso mesh (torso.jm).

I can't help you on that, but I can remodel this one if JLV would want me to. I need to know a face count limit and any other pertinent information about the structure first though.

Hey, why are these new faces I have created turned white instead of pink (what does the pink actually mean?)

I'm not sure, but I think blender just uses pink when it can't find the texture file. The new face probably isn't using the same material.

Yeah, thats what it is. You must have an image file loaded for those white faces. All the pink faces haven't been mapped yet. Will changing the shape of the rider model affect its location in the game, and will it efect the motions of the rider? How much code changing will updating rider animations need. I think that will add realism.

iv got the mva rider model but it is wierd, i think mva must use some kind of cloth physics for it or something  the goggles are all wrapped up and i would have to try and seperate arms and such as they are for mxsim, pretty difficult to do neatly, as at the moment they are all joined and i think they must act as cloth in smooth movement rather than joints :(

no I think what it is is they use all animations instead of physics so i guess thats why they dont need joints.
