Interesting sound idea

Post by Juanlox123 »

In iRacing, they updated the drivetrain on every car and made it what they call a "flexible drivetrain". What it does is make the sound much more realistic by wobbling the revolutions when the car is downshifting or going through bumps. I'm not sure how to explain it, but here's a youtube video of it in action. I thought maybe this could help improve the bike sounds, although car sounds are much different. It just makes the revolutions less static. Listen to the revolutions bounce slightly when he lets off the gas and downshifts.

Not nearly as much flex in a dirt bike's drive train. It doesn't apply here.

That's already in. The wheel is connected to the motor by a damped spring. You can hear it a little bit but it's nothing major. There are also undocumented bias and scale settings in the .braap files that could do it, but I didn't like the effect enough to pursue it.
