Could we get something like this going for online play?


I'm running a clean install of MX Sim because my computer has been acting up, and it seems to run better this way. But I'll be damned if I can tell who I am racing with. It's important to me because who I am racing with changes how I race them drastically.

Holy hell, stop destroying threads by posting useless, off topic crap. These conversations could of been had through PM, or go ahead and make an OFF TOPIC thread about it and fight like little girls there.

I think this has been discussed before. I could see it as annoying with 20 riders on the track. However, the point of "riding differently" around certain people is somewhat valid, as some people are sloppy and others are clean.

To add on to your idea, maybe we could have the text in different colors to display different information.
For example:
Green: Leader
White: Riders on Lead lap
Blue: Lappers

Also, i think the mini map should have lappers in blue (or some other distinctive color).

Additionally....

I remember GTR2 (like rFactor) had a system like this, and it was a very useful piece of information during organized races.
Like MXS, everyone drove differently and knowing exactly who the person was allowed you to prejudge how to drive behind/next to/around/infront of them.

Also, the end user had the ability to modify it. For example, you could set how many racers ahead of you (and separately, behind you) would have name's over their cars.
This allows the end user to set his personal preference on how much information is displayed.
