Wow, check out the bolt kit on them! I went on Mettec's site, and a complete bike titanium bolt kit is about $5k. Did some math (using easy numbers just to see weight ratio).
According to this site the density of steel (assuming stock bolts are steel...) is 7.85 g/cm^3.
According to Wikipedia the density of titanium (assuming they use straight titanium) is 4.506 g/cm^3.
Lets say we have a block of each that has a volume of 25 cm^3 (5cm x 5cm):
The mass of the steel block will be (7.85 g/cm^3) * (25 cm^3) = 196.25g
The mass of the titanium block will be (4.506 g/cm^3) * (25 cm^3) = 112.65g
(112.65 / 196.25) * 100 = 57.4% So titanium is 57.4% lighter than steel (using these values for density).
OR I probably could have looked this number up somewhere instead of typing all this crap out . Now someone go take every bolt off their bike and weight it .
